Our Privacy Policy – How we use your data

Your data are securely held in the University Alumni Office and will be treated sensitively, confidentially and appropriately in carrying out the business of Leeds Metropolitan University for its benefit and for the benefit of its members in accordance with the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act.

The data are for the use of the University and available to our International Office, academic faculties and administrative departments, recognised alumni leaders and alumni societies, sports and other clubs associated with the University and to agents contracted by the University for purposes directly related to projects in the interest of the University and / or its alumni.

Data are used for a full range of alumni activities including mailing University publications, the promotion of benefits and services available to alumni, notification of alumni events and programmes involving academic faculties and administrative departments. Data may also be used in friend-raising and fund-raising programmes which might include an element of direct marketing.

Under the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act you have the right to object to the use of your data for any of the above purposes. If you wish to register an objection, please write to the Alumni Office, Leeds Metropolitan University, Civic Quarter, LEEDS  LS1 3HE.
