Q1: How do I join leedsmetalumni

A1: You don’t need to join leedsmetalumni. If you are a former student of the University you automatically become part of our Alumni Network when you graduate or complete your studies. Register your details on this website and we will keep in touch with you! There is no charge to be part of leedsmetalumni.

Q2: I was a student at Leeds Polytechnic; can I be part of leedsmetalumni?

A2: Yes. If you were a student at Leeds Polytechnic or any other of the institutions listed below, you are eligible to be part of leedsmetalumni.

Q3: How do I get a replacement copy of my degree certificate?

A3: Requests for replacement certificates/verification of an award should be made direct to:

Notes:

a) Please ensure you give the following details with your request:
Name (Maiden name if appropriate)
Course and Award

b) Replacements can only be made where a certificate has been lost, stolen or destroyed. There is a charge and you will need to complete a form. Depending on the type of certificate there may be other legal requirements.

Q4: I need a copy of my academic transcript (exam results), how do I get this?

A4: Requests should be made directly to the appropriate Faculty /School giving details of:

Name (Maiden Name if appropriate)
Course
Date of Award

If you are unsure of which Faculty/School to send the request to, your request should be directed to the Academic Registry in the first instance.

Q5: I want to find a friend I have lost touch with; can you give me their address?

A5: Due to the Data Protection Act (1998) we are unable to divulge any addresses directly to a third party. However, if you would like to contact any of your contemporaries and friends, we would be delighted to try and help.

You can use the Member Search facility on this website to see if they have registered and made their contact details open to other members of the site. If they are not contactable through the website and if we have a mailing address on our database for them you can send a letter or email to us and we will gladly forward it. If you would like to use this service, please E-Mail the Alumni Office to see if we have details for the person you are trying to contact.

Q6. Where does the word 'Alumni' come from?

A6: Alumnus n. (pl. alumni; fem. alumna, fem. pl. alumnae). A former pupil or student of a particular school, college or university. [Latin, ='nursling, pupil' from alere 'nourish'].
